As an educational institution, Badminton School has always prioritized comprehensive student development. This commitment manifests through substantial investments in athletic facilities that serve both the school and local community.

New Sports Center

In September 2018, Badminton School unveiled its sports center—a project that had been a top priority for years. Worth over £4 million, the facility became the most expensive undertaking in the school’s history. The following March, Baroness Grey-Thompson DBE DL officially opened it, lending prestige to the occasion. Meeting Sport England standards, the center houses four courts for badminton, basketball, netball, trampolining, and hockey, alongside a fully equipped fitness suite, indoor climbing wall, fencing piste, club-standard changing rooms, and viewing galleries. It also features a sports therapy room for physiotherapy and athletic assessments.

Athletic Facilities

Beyond its new center, Badminton School maintains impressive sporting infrastructure. The campus includes a 25-meter indoor pool, full-size all-weather pitch, plus tennis and netball courts. The Bristol location also provides convenient access to specialized local venues for activities like dry-slope skiing and horseback riding.

Sports Leadership

Badminton School has forged strong partnerships with regional and national sports organizations, including Westbury Harriers, Redland Green Tennis, Redland Hockey Club, St Ursula’s Badminton Club, and Cavaliers Fencing Club. These collaborations connect the school with the broader community while giving students access to expert coaching and athletic expertise. Additionally, it offers the Level 3 Sports Leadership program—an officially recognized qualification in guiding sports and physical activity sessions that supports students’ physical, social, and emotional development.
